Facts about Octopus



 

Did you know that Octopuses have 3 hearts ? They also have 9 brains. There are about 300 species of Octopus. Some of them are Blue-ringed Octopus, Dumbo Octopus, Giant Pacific Octopus and the Common Octopus. The Giant Pacific Octopus is the largest. The Octopus Wolfi is the smallest. Some species can also change their colour. They also have camouflage. These animals are also very intelligent. They produce ink from their body to protect themselves from predators. Their colour is black and contains mostly melanin. They eat whelks, clams, snails, crabs, etc. They stay deeper in the ocean, near the seabed. They do not have streamlined body. When they move in water, they make their body streamlined.
